A severe flood struck northern Nepal on August 26, following a flash flood along the border with Tibet, causing significant damage and affecting several districts near our areas of operation.

Our impact

In 2000, inspired by the universal values of Buddhism, Matthieu Ricard founded Karuna-Shechen. Rooted in altruism in action, the organization supports marginalized communities in the Himalayan region so that they can take action, make decisions, and shape their own future. We are launching an emergency fund to provide support to individuals and communities affected by this disaster, as well as to fund rehabilitation efforts.
